Perceived Stress Scale (PSS)

Perceived Stress Scale (PSS)

The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) is a classic stress assessment instrument. Originally developed in 1983, it helps us understand how different situations affect our feelings and our perceived stress. The best approach is to answer these questions fairly quickly. That is, don't try to count up the number of times you felt a particular way. Choose the answer that represents how you've felt MOST of the time.
1.In the last month, how often have you been upset because of something that happened unexpectedly?(Required.)
2.In the last month, how often have you felt that you were unable to control the important things in your life?(Required.)
3.In the last month, how often have you felt nervous and stressed?(Required.)
4.In the last month, how often have you felt confident about your ability to handle your personal problems?(Required.)
5.In the last month, how often have you felt that things were going your way?(Required.)
6.In the last month, how often have you found that you could not cope with all the things that you had to do?(Required.)
7.In the last month, how often have you felt that you were on top of things?(Required.)
8.In the last month, how often have you been angry because of things that happened that were outside of your control?(Required.)
9.In the last month, how often have you felt difficulties were piling up so high that you could not overcome them?(Required.)
10.Figuring Your PSS Score

You can determine your PSS score by following these directions:
First, reverse your responses on questions 4, 5, and 7 to get an accurate score.

On questions 4, 5, and 7 ONLY:
if you answered 0, count it as 4
if you answered 1, count it as 3
if you answered 2, count it as 2
if you answered 3, count it as 1
if you answered 4, count it as 0

Next, add up your scores from each question (including 4, 5 and 7) to get a total
