Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) principles and standards set out the expectation that all businesses – regardless of their legal status, size, ownership structure or sector – avoid and address negative consequences of their operations, while contributing to sustainable development of the countries where they operate. RBC means integrating and considering environmental and social issues within core business activities, including throughout the supply chain and business relationships. A key element of RBC is risk-based due diligence – a process through which businesses identify, prevent and mitigate their actual and potential negative impacts and account for how those impacts are addressed.

In the context of the project Responsible business conduct in Latin America and the Caribbean (RBCLAC), the OECD is working with businesses to strengthen their capacity to conduct due diligence for RBC. The purpose of this survey is to obtain first-hand information on the RBC practices and challenges of businesses operating in or from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama and Peru, including challenges arising from the COVID-19 crisis. We are interested in hearing from companies across a wide range of sectors, in any part of the value chain.

The survey is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Please feel free to share the survey with suppliers and customers in your supply chain in order for us to gather a rich view of the responsible business landscape in the region. The expected time to complete the questionnaire is 20 minutes. The survey has a total of 31 questions, of which 15 are mandatory. Mandatory questions are marked with an asterisk (*) at the beginning of the question. Your answers will be kept strictly confidential and used only for statistical purposes. Likewise, all comments and/or documents provided in the framework of this survey will be kept confidential.

The results of this survey will be shared once an accurate sample size has been reached.

Remember, there are no right or wrong answers and individual companies will not be identified in any report.

We thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at RBCLAC-project@oecd.org.
