REGIONAL CONFERENCE FOR LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (1) calls on countries and their societies and their societies to take a new path to improve the lives of all, without leaving anyone behind. It has 17 SDG Sustainable Development Goals, which range from eliminating poverty to combating climate change, education, gender equality, environmental protection, among others.

To achieve the objectives of this agenda, partnerships between governments, the private sector, civil society and many other actors are required. These inclusive alliances built on principles, values, a shared vision and goals, that place people and the planet at the center, are necessary at a global, regional, national and local level.

In this framework, FAO, as a neutral forum for policies, knowledge and technical experience, is promoting a series of consultations, with the aim of providing a virtual space for non-governmental actors (civil society, private sector and academia) to share information and opinions on how much progress we have made in the 2018-2019 biennium (2), as well as suggestions regarding the issues that need to be addressed in the coming years.

Your contributions will serve as a contribution to the agenda of the 36th FAO Regional Conference, scheduled for 2020.
